About This Role We are seeking a highly motivated Commercial Superintendent to join our team. Reporting to the Commercial Manager, this role is responsible for managing the financial and management accounting functions of the mine site. The position will play a critical role in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and ensuring seamless communication between corporate finance teams, executive and leadership. The ideal candidate will enjoy a 9 day per fortnight roster and either reside in the Gunnedah Region or be open to relocating to the area. This role will be across Gunnedah open cuts. What You’ll Do Lead and coordinate the delivery of budgets and forecasts, driving effective cost control and strategic capital management. Perform analysis of budget/forecast outcomes to effectively communicate results and trends | Have a competence in and an understanding of the relevant budgeting/Forecast systems (TM1 preferred). Contribute to the effective presentation of budget/forecast outcomes to Senior Management. Conduct analysis of improvement/value creation opportunities – analyse current operations and use valuation methodologies to evaluate them. Conduct contract performance analysis and assist the commercial manager negotiations. What You’ll Bring Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Commerce or Accounting Professional membership of either CPA or CA 10 years’ experience Experience in a capital-intensive industry (preferably mining, manufacturing or heavy industry) Significant exposure to accounting and reporting, budgeting, and reforecasting
Responsibilities
This role is responsible for managing the financial and management accounting functions of the mine site, leading the delivery of budgets and forecasts while driving effective cost control and strategic capital management. The Superintendent will also conduct analysis of improvement opportunities and contract performance to support negotiations.
