About the Position The Construction Superintendent will be responsible for the day‑to‑day management of onsite construction activities. Location: Arlington, VA Employment Type: Full-Time (On-Site) Key Responsibilities * Manage and supervise daily field operations, subcontractors, and onsite personnel. * Ensure all work complies with project specifications, drawings, codes, and federal agency requirements. * Coordinate and schedule subcontractors, inspections, material deliveries, and equipment. * Monitor project progress and maintain the construction schedule, report changes or delays. * Enforce strict safety standards and ensure OSHA and federal safety requirements are followed. * Conduct daily site walks and safety meetings. * Collaborate with the Quality Control Manager (QCM) on inspections, testing, and documentation. * Maintain daily logs, progress reports, and field documentation. * Identify and resolve onsite issues promptly to minimize delays and disruptions. * Serve as the primary onsite point of contact for the government client, inspectors, and stakeholders. * Support punch list completion, project closeout, and turnover activities. Required Qualifications * Minimum 10+ years of experience as a Superintendent or in a similar field leadership role. * Experience overseeing federal construction projects (strongly preferred). * Strong understanding of construction methods, sequencing, and industry best practices. * Proven ability to lead teams and manage subcontractors effectively. * Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and technical documents. * Knowledge of federal safety requirements and construction regulations. * Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills. * Proficiency with daily reporting and construction management software. * Ability to work onsite full-time and travel to project locations as needed. Preferred Qualifications/Certifications * Knowledge of Unified Facilities Guide Specifications (UFGS) * OSHA 30 (required or obtained within 30 days of hire). * First Aid/CPR certification. * USACE CQM‑C certification. * Additional construction industry certifications are a plus. * OSHA 30 certification. * Professional certifications: CQE, CQA, or PMP are a plus. Security Requirements * Must be a U.S. Citizen. * Must be able to obtain and maintain a clear background check and fingerprinting prior to onboarding.
