JOB DESCRIPTION:

As the Superintendent, you will be a key player in overseeing the construction process within the established design, schedule and budget requirements. Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, you will schedule and supervise the day-to-day operations and provide leadership and professionalism on the construction site.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3+ years of proven superintendent experience specifically in mid-rise, cast-in-place projects.
  • Strong ability to read and understand construction drawings.
  • Familiarity with your local Building Code and regulatory permit requirements.
  • Experience working directly with building inspectors through occupancy.
  • Proficiency in Word, and Excel. Knowledge of BlueBeam and MS Projects considered an asset.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with all stakeholders involved over the course of the project.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Good attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership in high pressure situations.
  • Ability to tackle issues and create solutions.
  • Strong written communication skills.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee day-to-day activities and supervision of work being performed on site.
  • Review, approve and track all daily construction operations.
  • Read and interpret drawings, respond to trade questions as needed and provide direction.
  • Track progress of individual trades’ work. Prepare site progress reports.
  • Work with all project team members as needed and provide leadership on site in collaboration with the PM.
  • Monitor and provide feedback on overall project schedule to the PM.
  • Work with the PM to identify and resolve issues with timely and cost-effective solutions.
  • Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure high standards of workmanship.
  • Ensure overall site Health and Safety, including inspections, incident reporting, etc.
  • Lead various job site meetings as needed.
