Where you will be working
Newmont’s Cadia Valley mine operation is situated in New South Wales, 25 kilometres from Orange and 250 kilometres west of Sydney. Cadia produces gold doré bars from a gravity circuit and gold-rich copper concentrates from a flotation circuit. The Operation includes the Cadia East Mine which is globally renowned for its use of block caving, a large-scale underground mining method.

Who we’re looking for
The Manager, Sustaining Capital Projects is seeking to fill the permanent position ofSuperintendent, Construction Projectswithin the Process Operations team at Cadia.

The primary purpose for the position is to effectively oversee and co-ordinate all on-site construction project execution and delivery aligned to the project plan and to fully comply with Newmont’s safety and quality standards, procedures and processes. Key responsibilities will be to:

  • Lead all on-site construction project execution phases and provide effective leadership across in field supervisors and business partners
  • Plan construction project timelines, resources and milestones for successful delivery
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and risk assess legal, environmental and/or health and safety issues
  • Collaborate with subcontractors to ensure work in delivery aligns to project goals and timelines
  • Conduct site inspections to monitor progress, quality and adherence to safety standards
  • Deliver daily, weekly and monthly progress reports to relevant stakeholders
  • Manage and distribute resources, including workforce, materials and equipment effectively
  • Facilitate the development of detailed construction schedules and adhere to project timelines
  • Consolidate communication and coordination between project teams and partners
  • Supervise daily construction and commissioning activities to ensure conformance to project plans and specifications.
