We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Drill and Blast Superintendent to join our team at Hail Creek Open Cut.
Reporting to the Mining Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing all drill and blast activities, ensuring operational efficiency, compliance with safety and environmental standards, and alignment with production targets.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and oversee drill and blast plans to optimize coal recovery and minimise costs.
  • Lead and manage the drill and blast team, including Shotfirers, Drillers, and Supervisors, to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly production targets.
  • Monitor and improve blast performance, ensuring fragmentation, vibration, and other parameters meet operational requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, environmental standards, and site safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with geologists, mine planners, and contractors to align blasting activities with overall mine schedules.
  • Manage drill and blast budgets, ensuring cost-effective operations.
  • Provide training, mentoring, and development for team members to enhance skills and performance.
