Superintendent Location: Austin, TX Gordon Highlander is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Superintendent to lead field operations and ensure the successful execution of commercial construction projects throughout the South/ Southeast. This position plays a critical leadership role in managing project schedules, quality, safety, subcontractor coordination, and client relationships while delivering exceptional project outcomes. A Gordon Highlander Superintendent is responsible for overseeing the overall success of assigned projects from mobilization through closeout. They possess the ability to effectively multitask, prioritize critical milestones, and adapt to changing project demands while maintaining a high level of organization and accountability. They have developed the skill sets and construction expertise necessary to manage a full range of project and client complexities, earning the confidence and trust of both Clients and Project Teams. This leader is committed to delivering exceptional client experience while fostering teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement across all project stakeholders.   Key Responsibilities * Lead and manage all on-site construction activities to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. * Develop, maintain, and communicate project schedules, milestones, and short-term work plans. * Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, suppliers, and field personnel to ensure efficient project execution. * Monitor project progress and proactively identify and resolve field issues, conflicts, and potential delays. * Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with safety requirements, contract documents, and quality standards. * Maintain a clean, organized, and professional jobsite environment. * Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Estimators, Owners, Architects, Engineers, and Consultants throughout the construction process. * Lead project meetings, subcontractor coordination meetings, and safety meetings. * Review drawings, specifications, and project documents to identify potential challenges and opportunities. * Ensure all work is performed in accordance with applicable building codes, regulations, and company standards. * Manage project documentation including daily reports, schedules, inspections, punch lists, and closeout activities. * Communicate project status, risks, and solutions effectively to clients and internal stakeholders. * Foster strong relationships with clients by delivering a responsive, proactive, and solution-oriented approach. * Champion and embody the Gordon Highlander Client Centricity Culture in every interaction. * Promote collaboration across field operations, project management, preconstruction, and executive leadership teams. * Lead with a servant-leadership mindset, supporting the success and development of team members while maintaining accountability and performance.   Qualifications & Experience * 7+ years of commercial construction field supervision experience. * Proven experience managing ground-up commercial construction and tenant improvement projects. * Strong knowledge of construction means and methods, sequencing, scheduling, and site logistics. * Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing project conditions. * Excellent communication, leadership, conflict resolution, and organizational skills. * Ability to process a high volume of information and respond effectively in a fast-paced environment. * Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents. * Experience coordinating subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, and project stakeholders. * Proficiency with construction management software such as Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and scheduling platforms. * Thorough understanding of OSHA safety requirements and jobsite safety management. * Ability to build trust and maintain positive working relationships with clients, project teams, and trade partners. * Demonstrated commitment to teamwork, professionalism, accountability, and servant leadership.   What We Offer * Competitive base salary * Performance-based bonus opportunities * Health, dental, and vision benefits * 401(k) with company contribution * Vehicle allowance * Professional development and leadership training * Career growth opportunities with a respected and entrepreneurial construction firm * Opportunity to work on challenging and rewarding commercial construction projects   Why Gordon Highlander?
