SUMMARY  Mortenson is currently seeking a Superintendent I that will be responsible for coordinating, planning, and supervising assistant superintendents, contractors, and craft activities in a particular area of discipline, while developing and enhancing customer relationships through excellent service. RESPONSIBILITIES * Plan and implement to ensure all materials, equipment, and inspections support the project schedule * Review construction and contract documents for completeness and constructability * Coordinate plans and specifications with design engineers, resolving discrepancies * Develop and manage project schedules, including three and six-week look-ahead schedules * Develop a site logistics plan and lead the utilization of Mortenson tools and equipment * Collaborate with project partner superintendents * Conduct on-site project orientations, pre-construction planning sessions, and project site meetings * Supervise project partners, craft foremen, and crews; interview, hire, transfer, and dismiss craft team members as needed * Coach and mentor assistant superintendents, craft team members, and other project team members * Ensure proper task coding of work hours on timecards, track work progress and craft productivity * Handle craft team member training and conduct career development discussions * Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels * Lead team members by example, offer effective coaching and feedback, and manage performance * Provide high-level management of safety, quality, risk, and compliance for the project and team members * Recognize and mitigate unfavorable working conditions and seek opportunities to improve processes and procedures QUALIFICATIONS * Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, or 10 years trade experience * Minimum 5 years construction management or related experience * Current driver’s license * Ability to fulfill responsibilities for multiple, complex projects * Detail-oriented with the ability to organize and manage multiple project tasks * Basic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practices * Intermediate Microsoft Office skills * Positive and professional attitude with strong customer service skills * Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies * Active listening skills and effective communication including openness to diverse input and feedback * Ability to travel up to 100% * Knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity, inclusive behaviors, and Affirmative Action plans A few benefits offered include:  (for Non-Craft & Non-Union Craft working 25+ hours / week) * Medical and prescription drug plans that includes no additional cost vision coverage  * Dental plan  * 401k retirement plan with a generous Mortenson match * Paid time off, holidays, and other paid leaves  * Employer paid Life, AD&D, and disability insurance  * No-Cost mental health tool and concierge with extensive work-life resources * Tuition reimbursement  * Adoption Assistance   * Gym Membership Discount Program   **The base pay range for this role is $111,400 - $167,700. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%). Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity.
