Description
This is a company that started by taking the smallest jobs in town and grew into one of Central Florida's most trusted heavy civil contractors — handling multimillion-dollar site development, underground utilities, roadway infrastructure, and land clearing contracts across a 70-mile radius. They run 25 full-time pipe crews, tackle sites with 80+ feet of elevation change, and have completed single contracts exceeding $50 million. They treat their crews like family, hold a zero-incident safety standard, and have earned repeat business from industrial, commercial, residential, and municipal clients by delivering on time and on budget — every time. They're looking for a Superintendent who leads the same way they build: with accountability, precision, and genuine pride in the work. What You'll Own Manage daily construction activities across multiple heavy civil projects simultaneously — earthwork, underground utilities, site development, and roadway scopes Plan and schedule labor, equipment, and resources to maximize production and efficiency without compromising quality or safety Direct and develop crew supervisors and foremen, providing the guidance and corrective action necessary to keep the team performing at a high level Monitor project schedules in real time, flagging concerns early and contributing to schedule updates before they become problems Coordinate subcontractors, utilities, inspections, survey staking, and other trades to keep work sequenced and moving Enforce all company safety policies and maintain a zero-incident standard on every jobsite — working alongside the safety department, not waiting for them to show up Represent the organization professionally during inspections, site visits, and client walkthroughs Track and document all field activities, daily reports, quantities, and resources with accuracy and timeliness 2+ years of field leadership experience with a heavy civil contractor — site development, underground utilities, earthwork, or roadway infrastructure The ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and blueprints and communicate what you see clearly to crews and foremen Strong working knowledge of equipment operations, maintenance requirements, and OSHA safety standards Exceptional organizational and planning skills — you don't just react to the job, you anticipate it A presence on the jobsite that earns respect: calm under pressure, direct in communication, consistent in standards Bilingual English/Spanish a meaningful plus given the crew composition in this region, but not required High school diploma or GED preferred Competitive base compensation commensurate with experience Generous Paid Time Off (PTO) package plus paid company holidays Medical, dental, vision, and supplemental insurance with employer contributions 401(k) with employer match Long-term incentives A stable, growing company with a deep pipeline of work and a culture that invests in the people who show up and perform
Responsibilities
The Superintendent will manage daily construction activities across multiple heavy civil projects simultaneously, including earthwork, utilities, and site development, while planning and scheduling labor and equipment for maximum efficiency. This role also involves directing and developing crew supervisors, coordinating trades, enforcing strict safety policies, and professionally representing the organization during site interactions.
