Position: Superintendent Department: Pipeline Integrity Classification: Construction  Work environment: Field-based, project-driven role with work conditions dependant on project scope and client requirements Work hours: Hours vary based on project demands and client schedules Department Overview: * Investigative Digs  * Site and Right of Way (ROW) Maintenance  * General Pipeline Maintenance   * Abandonment and Decommissioning  * Slope Mediation, Reclamation, and Clean-up  * Hydrotesting  * Pipeline Class Changes  * Welding  * Pipeline Repairs, Cut-outs, and Installations  * Launcher/Receiver Installations  * Line Lowering and Crossings  * Pipeline Suspensions and Abandonments  * Excavation Work Conditions:  * Use of a tablet is required for daily tasks and reporting  * Work in various locations across Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and BC. * Ability to work rotating shifts and extended hours, including weekends, as required * Willingness to travel and work out of town * Reliable transportation to access job sites  * Comfortable working outdoors in a variety of weather and environmental conditions  * Be able to work outside in various climate conditions. * Living Out Allowance (LOA) provided. * Physically demanding role requiring bending, lifting and manual labour             Duties/Responsibilities:  * Review tender documents, prepare estimates, and develop project proposals * Define project scope, objectives, risks, assumptions, staffing requirements, roles, milestones, and deliverables.  * Act as primary the primary liaison between site supervisors and subcontractors.  * Ensure compliance with all site access requirements (PPE, Safety Training, D&A testing, etc.).  * Complete pre-job planning documentation, including FLHA's (Field Level Hazard Assessments) * Conduct cost-benefit analyses and margin evaluations to support project success * Manage client and contractor meetings, RFIs, change orders, invoicing, and document control processes  * Identify, communicate, and uphold project HSE (Health Safety & Environment) expectations * Provide on-site leadership, oversee crew members, and support field operations as needed * Work independently while assisting the Foreman and providing direction to team members * Perform general labour duties including fueling equipment and shoveling * Load, unload, and transport construction materials to work areas  * Assist heavy equipment operators with attaching equipment, signaling, and general support  * Support pipeline construction activities, including pipe alignment and installation tasks * Grade and level ground to specifications using hand tools  * Assist with demolition work and properly sort and manage salvaged materials  * Remove debris and maintain clean, safe work sites  * Operate tools and equipment such as pneumatic hammers, vibrators, tampers, mixers, compressors, and pumps  * Safely handle hazardous materials, including spill cleanup and asbestos removal  * Perform basic equipment maintenance, including oiling and greasing * Direct traffic in and around construction zones  * Perform additional duties as required  Requirements: * Deep knowledge/experience with pipeline operations within the oil and gas industry  * Required Safety Tickets:  * CSTS 20 * H2S Alive  * Standard First Aid – Level C CPR/AED * Ground Disturbance – Level II * Confined Space (Job Dependent) * Successful completion of pre-employment occupational testing, including: * Drug and Alcohol * Audiometric  * Hearing Protection Fit * Respirator Mask Fit  *  A valid driver’s license and safe driving record (may be required) This description is intended to outline the general nature and level of work performed.
