Superintendent of SchoolsAuburn Public Schools Auburn, MassachusettsPosition SummaryThe Auburn School Committee is seeking a highly qualified, collaborative, and visionary leader to serve as the next Superintendent of Schools. This individual will serve as the chief executive officer of the district, responsible for overseeing all educational programs, staff, operations, and resources to ensure the academic success and well-being of approximately 2,700 students across five schools.The Superintendent must demonstrate a deep commitment to educational excellence, equity, innovation, and community partnershipsworking in close collaboration with staff, families, and town leadership to advance the mission and vision of Auburn Public Schools.About the DistrictLocated in central Massachusetts just minutes from Worcester and under an hour from Boston, Auburn Public Schools is a PreK12 public school district serving the Town of Auburn. The district includes: - Bryn Mawr Elementary School (Grades PreK2)- Pakachoag Elementary School (Grades K2)- Swanson Road Intermediate School (Grades 35)- Auburn Middle School (Grades 68)- Auburn High School (Grades 912)The district budget is currently approximately 32.7 million. For additional information for the Auburn Public Schools please visit www.auburn.k12.ma.usKey Responsibilities- Provide strategic vision and instructional leadership across all schools and departments- Collaborate with the School Committee to develop policies, approve budgets, and set district goals- Promote a safe, inclusive, and equitable school culture that meets the needs of all learners- Lead district-level planning and continuous improvement aligned with Massachusetts DESE standards- Manage district operations including curriculum, finance, personnel, facilities, and technology- Serve as the districts primary liaison to families, town officials, community organizations, and the media- Ensure compliance with all federal and state education laws and regulations, including Title IX, IDEA, Chapter 70, and DESE mandates- Hire, evaluate, and support school and district administrators and staff- Communicate effectively and transparently with all stakeholdersQualificationsRequired: - Licensed or eligible for licensure as a Superintendent in Massachusetts- Masters degree in Education, Leadership, or a related field (Doctorate in Education or related field preferred)- Minimum of 10 years in education with progressive leadership experience- Demonstrated success in instructional leadership, strategic planning, and team development- Strong interpersonal, communication, and community engagement skills- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in public educationPreferred: - Experience working with school finance, collective bargaining, and municipal collaboration- Knowledge of Massachusetts school law and DESE initiativesContract and CompensationThe School Committee offers a competitive salary and benefits package, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
