ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Degree qualified in an engineering discipline (preferable but not essential).
  • Extensive experience in Supply Chain Management, with a bias towards the logistics and materials control disciplines.
  • Track record of managing all logistics and materials associated with well operation activities to facilitate both onshore and offshore drilling campaigns.
  • Well-versed in the complexities associated with marine & aviation chartering.
  • High level of knowledge of all legislative issues appertaining to the logistics and materials control discipline within the UAE and Oman.
  • Previous experience working on both land and offshore well projects in the UAE or Middle East region.
  • An understanding of Well Abandonment activity is desirable.
  • Computer literate in MS Office suite, and generic computerized materials management packages.
  • Excellent communicator, both verbal and written and confident of presenting at board level.
  • Able to work in a team and understand that all users’ requirements need to be considered.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the project team in submission for and the implementation of and adherence to Company and clients project specific HSEQ and legislative requirements.
  • Provision of support for, and guidance on, any HSEQ issues associated with the materials and logistics discipline to prevent a negative impact on the environment, or the safety of personnel & equipment.
  • Focal point for any materials and logistics requirements necessary within the wells team.
  • Provision of support for, and guidance on, any air logistics requirements including GCAA regulatory requirements.
  • Provision of support for, and guidance on, any marine logistics requirements including tendering and vessel selection.
  • Provision of guidance on any land transport requirements.
  • Provision of support for, and guidance on, any materials control requirements.
  • Provision of support for Customs clearance and obtaining duty exemption where applicable.
  • Offering guidance on, and where necessary taking the lead, in materials and logistics planning issues.
  • Management of long lead deliveries and expediting same.
  • Management of, and support for, the daily operational logistics requirements.
  • Management of, and ensuring legislative compliance, of the offshore generated waste stream.
  • Provision of minor ad-hoc procurement disciplines in support of the operation.
  • Supporting the generation of cost estimates, AFE’s, and cost tracking disciplines, if required.
  • Supervision of all members of the materials and logistics discipline in meeting the demands placed upon them.
  • Responsible for ensuring the generation of any and all purchase orders/call offs associated with the logistics and materials control discipline.
  • Monitoring the logistics and materials control disciplines to ensure that the most cost-effective service provision is being obtained, and where areas of improvement are identified to seek out a solution and to employ any remedial actions.
  • To attend, or ensure a suitable deputy is found to attend, any operational or planning meetings that require the support of the logistics and materials discipline.
  • Act as a focal point for any external parties (client, 3rd party service provider, other) that may be seeking guidance on issues relating to their interface with our existing materials and logistics processes.
  • Development and maintenance of any and all logistics and materials policies and procedures, and the ongoing monitoring of compliance on the same.
  • Participate in the inputting and tracking of all project actions and key legislation in Turus®.
  • Participate in the inputting and close out of all lessons in Turus®.
  • Participate risk reviews and support the documentation as required by the project utilizing Turus®.
  • Participate in client project meetings and weekly reporting requirements.
  • Safety and environmental inspection visits to well sites.
  • Co-ordination of morning and other operational meetings and calls with Field team.
  • Weekly operational and cost reporting related to logistics discipline.
