Description Polinger Company, a Class A General Contractor licensed in MD, DC and VA, and a full-service property management organization serving residential and commercial communities, is seeking an experienced and hands-on Superintendent to oversee commercial and residential renovation and capital improvement projects. The Superintendent is responsible for coordinating and supervising commercial and residential renovation projects while ensuring quality workmanship, compliance with safety standards, and adherence to project timelines and budgets. This role works closely with project management, contractors, vendors, property management and maintenance teams to ensure successful project completion. Key Responsibilities Oversee day-to-day construction and renovation activities at assigned properties Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, vendors, and maintenance staff Ensure projects are completed on schedule and within approved budgets Conduct regular site inspections to monitor quality control and safety compliance Maintain detailed project documentation and progress reports Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety policies Communicate effectively with Property Managers, Regional Managers, and ownership Respond to emergency maintenance or structural issues as needed Requirements Oversee day-to-day construction and renovation activities at assigned properties Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, vendors, and maintenance staff Ensure projects are completed on schedule and within approved budgets Conduct regular site inspections to monitor quality control and safety compliance Maintain detailed project documentation and progress reports Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety policies Communicate effectively with Property Managers, Regional Managers, and ownership Respond to emergency maintenance or structural issues as needed Physical Requirements Prolonged walking, standing, stooping, bending, climbing, and kneeling Ability to lift and carry materials up to 50 pounds Exposure to outdoor weather conditions and active construction environments Qualifications Minimum High School Diploma or GED At least 3 years of construction experience in commercial and residential renovation projects Strong knowledge of construction scheduling, means, and methods Familiarity with OSHA regulations and job site safety requirements Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and scopes of work Experience coordinating subcontractors and vendors Must possess own tools and reliable transportation Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record Benefits Health, dental, life, and disability insurance Paid vacation and holidays 401(k) with company match Pre-Employment Requirements Thorough background investigation conducted prior to hire Thorough Background investigations will be conducted prior to hiring.
