OUR OPPORTUNITY

Location: Fortescue Centre - 256 St Georges Tce, Perth
Roster: Monday to Friday, 7.6 hours per day - adhoc site travel when required
Fortescue are seeking an experienced Superintendent – Preservation, Repairables & Warranty. This role is responsible for leading the preservation, repairable components, service exchange, and warranty management processes to deliver consistent component performance, ensure material readiness, and optimise costs. The Superintendent will ensure the longevity and reliability of assets through effective preservation program management, offsite repairs management, and robust warranty claim processes.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Technical qualifications in asset management and maintenance management (Bachelor’s degree in Engineering desirable)
  • Experience in warehouse and inventory management, Fixed Plant or Mobile Plant maintenance, material preservation, component repair, and warranty management
  • Vendor and contract management
  • Quality control processes and methodologies
  • Understanding of materials criticality, technical specifications, reliability and performance issues
  • Strong leadership, team building, and stakeholder management skills

Responsibilities
  • Ensure planned preservation activities are executed in line with Fortescue standards and procedures.
  • Lead the development, implementation, and regular review of preservation strategies to maximise the lifecycle of critical components.
  • Forecast operational requirements, resources, and supplies to maintain preservation and offsite repairs activities.
  • Collaborate with the Planning team to forecast and schedule repairable component overhauls.
  • Oversee coordination of repair and refurbishment of parts, ensuring timely and cost-effective outcomes.
  • Ensue vendor inspections are conducted and assess scope of repair and quality for critical component rebuilds.
  • Ensure QA/QC assessments of repaired parts are conducted and evaluate vendor performance in line with Fortescue standards.
  • Oversee the implementation of the Warranty Management Process, acting as the central point of contact for all warranty cases.
  • Liaise with equipment manufacturers and suppliers to resolve warranty issues, secure replacements or repairs, and ensure maximum return for the business.
  • Maintain detailed records of preservation, repair, and warranty claim activities, approvals, and reporting to stakeholders.
  • Work with Supply teams to determine stock levels, warehouse items, and direct-purchase requirements based on material management analysis.
  • Identify and/or endorse asset disposal opportunities in line with the Disposals Process.
  • Lead, coach, and mentor team members, driving a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and high performance.
