OPPORTUNITY SUMMARY

As the Superintendent, reporting to the Director, Field Operations, you will collaborate and lead the team to execute and deliver quality projects on time and on budget. Having at least 5 plus years of experience, you will be responsible for providing overall supervision, coordination, and scheduling of construction activities for a civil project.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least 5+ years previous experience working on commercial, institutional, and residential projects with a focus on civil work with a spend of $40 million plus.
  • Technical diploma or equivalent combination of technical training and experience.
  • Excellent relationship building skills with strong focus on client relationship.
  • Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction such as technology, equipment, methods, trade agreements and jurisdiction, engineering, cost control, drawings, specifications, procedures, scheduling, and safety requirements.
  • Proven creative problem-solving skills.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook with Procore being an asset.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to successfully translate technical information to non-technical individuals.
  • Strong relationship and team building skills with proven integrity dealing with Clients, Trades and Consultants.

Responsibilities
  • On site supervision and coordination of trades.
  • With a collaborate style, coordinate and supervise all construction activities on site.
  • Ensure project is constructed according to drawings, specifications, project schedule and budget.
  • Partner with management team, including the Project Manager and subcontractors to maintain construction schedule and identify/resolve problems as necessary and in a timely manner.

  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including community.
  • Models and communicates safety requirements to all on site.
  • Develop recovery strategies when project schedule or budgets are in jeopardy.

  • Review and update schedule, cost forecast and cash flow with the Project Manager.
  • Maintain appropriate field documentation including safety, progress reports, rental records, logs etc.

  • Supervise, mentor, coach, and train project personnel.
