Union Grove ISD is searching for a superintendent with the following qualifications:
1. A valid Texas Superintendent Certification
2. At least five years’ classroom teaching experience and principal and/or central officeexperience required.
3. A strong knowledge of budgeting and public school finance. Experience in a rural, small, or mid-size district is preferred.
4. A belief in high standards and holding everyone equally accountable in reachingthose goals.
5. Demonstrated strong skills in educational leadership in respect to uniting staff,parents and community in the pursuit of student achievement and a positive districtculture.
6. Experience in the construction, maintenance, and operations of facilities, and ademonstrated good steward of taxpayer dollars. Completion and implementation ofa successful bond project is preferred.
7. A strong background in student performance success, educational technology andvocational programs. Experience in maintaining strong UIL academic, fine arts andathletic success is also preferred.
8. Experience working with all students, including economically disadvantaged students.
9. Integrity and exemplary moral character along with excellent people skills who leadsby example. Visible throughout the community, district, and on campuses.
10. An effective public speaker and motivator.
11. Shown maturity, stability and the willingness to stay in a district for five or moreyears.
12. A strong desire to be a part of the community and the willingness to be present atextra-curricular and community events.
13. The desire and ability to work with others and willingness to develop leaders, andpromote the best staff possible, regardless of whether they are local or from outsidethe community.
14. A person with an open mind, who will take the time to see what works before makingsignificant changes.
15. Open communication with the Board, the administration, faculty, staff, and community with a servant attitude.
16. Experience in working with legislators and familiar with legislative processes.
17. High expectations for Union Grove ISD students, faculty, and staff, and the desire totake a great school district and make it even better.
