Carac, an iconic and well established retailer of Caravan, Camping, Trailer, Marine and 4WD Accessories, is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic team member to join their Dandenong store.

We are looking for an experienced cashier/shop assistant who is seeking a challenging and rewarding part time career.

Therefore, the successful applicant will need to be passionate about providing excellent customer service and going the extra mile to fulfil customer needs.

Duties will include providing friendly and courteous service to every customer, store merchandising, store housekeeping, and providing guidance within the store.

Retail experience, and a back ground in customer service is preferred.

We are an active member of Caravan Industry Victoria and have a fully equipped Service Safe Accredited workshop.

We are looking for a cashier who is prepared to work weekends, has a bubbly personality and willingness to learn. There will also be a requirement to work during the week or fill in from time to time.

The role would be very suitable for someone more mature. We are looking prepared to work a full time 5 day roster - most likely Tuesday to Saturday.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Supermarket Manager to oversee the daily operations of our store, lead a high-performing team, and drive business growth.

The Role

As the Supermarket Manager, you will be responsible for planning, organising, directing, controlling, and coordinating the overall operations of the supermarket. The successful candidate will ensure the store operates efficiently, achieves sales and profitability targets, maintains high merchandising standards, and delivers an outstanding shopping experience.

The duties of the position include:

  • Determine the product mix, stock levels and service standards across all departments of the IGA supermarket (grocery, fresh produce, deli, meat, bakery, dairy and frozen)
  • Formulate and implement purchasing and marketing policies and set retail prices, including ordering through Metcash and sourcing local suppliers
  • Promote and advertise the store's goods and services through IGA catalogue promotions, in-store displays, IGA Rewards and local community marketing
  • Sell goods and services to customers and advise them on product selection and use
  • Maintain records of stock levels and financial transactions through the store's POS and inventory system, and oversee daily cash handling and banking
  • Undertake budgeting for the establishment, including sales, gross profit, wage and expense budgets, and monitor performance against budget
  • Control the selection, training and supervision of staff
  • Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations, food safety standards and other relevant retail legislation

About you

To be considered for this position, you must:

  • hold at least a Diploma-level qualification or higher in business, management, retail or a related field;
  • have at least one (1) year of relevant work experience in retail management or in a similar supervisory role, preferably in a supermarket or grocery environment;
  • have demonstrated experience in stock control, ordering, merchandising and staff supervision;
  • be available to work across a seven-day trading roster, including some weekends; and
  • be self-motivated, reliable and committed to delivering excellent customer service.
