Position Overview: We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Instructor Therapist to join our team. The Instructor Therapist will work directly with children with autism and other developmental disabilities, implementing ABA therapy interventions under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families while gaining valuable experience in the field of behavior analysis.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement individualized ABA therapy programs developed by the BCBA.
  • Provide one-on-one therapy sessions with children, targeting specific skill development areas such as communication, social skills, academic skills, and daily living skills.
  • Collect data on client progress and behavior during therapy sessions.
  • Collaborate with the BCBA and other team members to develop and modify treatment plans as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers regarding client progress and goals.
  • Maintain a positive and supportive environment for clients and their families.
  • Adhere to ethical standards and guidelines set forth by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology, education, or related field required or a diploma in a behaviour science program (e.g. Behavioural Science Technology Diploma, Autism Behavioural Science Certificate, Early Childhood Education Diploma or Degree)
  • Previous experience working with children with autism or other developmental disabilities preferred.
  • Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis principles and techniques.
  • Completion of Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) training preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Compassionate, patient, and enthusiastic about working with children and families.
  • Clear Vulnerable Police Check
  • CPR/FirstAid
  • Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) or Safe Management (SMG) training preferred
  • Professional liability insurance
