Reporting to the Electrical Superintendent, the Electrical Supervisor will supervise electricians and be responsible for electrical work throughout the mine’s operations. He must plan, organize, direct and control the activities of his team. Based at the Windfall site, located in the Nord-du-Québec region, he or she will be called upon to work a schedule of 15 days of work followed by 13 days off. Transportation, lodging and meals provided.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
- College diploma (DEC) in Industrial Electronics, Electrical Engineering or Instrumentation and Control (an asset) or vocational diploma (DEP) in electricity or electromechanics;
- (10) years’ experience, including 5 years in the electrical field in underground mines;
- Hold the Certificat de Compétence en Électricité (CÉ) du QUÉBEC (licence ¨C¨ en électricité);
- Supervisory experience;
- Work experience in the start-up of new mining projects (an asset);
- Good knowledge of English. Very good knowledge of French (spoken and written). French is the first language at work;
- A valid class 5 driver’s license;
- Possess an explosives license;
- Successful completion of mining modules 1-2-3-4-5 and 7.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Excel, Outlook, etc.);
- Knowledge of computer-aided maintenance management (CMMS) software, e.g. Guide TI;
- Knowledge of instrumentation and control (e.g. PLC, DCS, fiber optics, etc.);
- Mastery of the building code as well as the various laws and regulations governing the distribution and use of electrical energy in a mine;
- Knowledge of low, medium and high voltage distribution networks.
