This role combines legal analysis, client guidance, staff mentorship, intake oversight, and community engagement. The attorney will help ensure clients receive high-quality legal information and services while supporting efficient statewide intake operations. Essential Responsibilities · Evaluate Centralized Intake Unit applications to determine eligibility and level of service · Conduct legal research, client interviews, and fact gathering to provide legal advice and recommendations · Educate clients regarding legal options, processes, and potential outcomes · Assist in supervising, training, and mentoring intake paralegals and support staff · Help manage daily workflow and intake operations · Ensure compliance with Legal Services Corporation (LSC) regulations and recordkeeping requirements · Maintain current knowledge of legal issues affecting elders and low-income communities · Support outreach and education efforts within the elder community statewide · Build and maintain relationships with partner agencies and community organizations · Assist in developing intake guidance materials, scripts, and documentation · Participate in AccessLine and ElderAccessLine call support as needed Work Environment & Flexibility This is a mostly remote position with flexible work arrangements. Attorneys may work from anywhere in Nebraska within 60 miles of a Legal Aid of Nebraska office. Occasional travel to Legal Aid offices, including Omaha, and limited statewide travel will be required. Candidates must be able to maintain a private, confidential workspace for remote work.
