The Supervising Professional develops the participant service plan with input from the Participant’s Representative (PR) and assessment document. They may be asked to assist with care delivery competency trainings if needed. They also serve as a resource for the participant, PR or worker on appropriate program use and other services to help meet the health and safety needs of the participant in the community. The Supervising Professional may assist in training, supervision, and evaluation of services, as well as ensuring quality assurance of the direct care services at Accra Care. They are expected to stay abreast of current policies and changes to the program, and to participate in committees and meetings to enhance their knowledge of services beneficial to their clients. The Supervising Professional would assist in directed areas, this may include home visits or competency visits. Requirements Supervising Professional must be qualified in at least one of the following ways: A baccalaureate degree in a field related to human services, and one year of full-time work experience providing direct care services to persons with disabilities or persons age 65 or older; OR An associate degree in a field related to human services, and two years of full-time work experience providing direct care services to persons with disabilities or persons age 65 or older. Willingness to be trained on the services needed by people with disabilities and the elderly in Minnesota. Willingness to be trained on home health care requirements, regulations, and protocols Demonstrated creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Able to affect change and demonstrate positive leadership. High commitment to service and professionalism Excellent organizational, problem solving, communication, and interpersonal skills. Willingness to be trained on federal and state statutes applicable to services for people with disabilities and the elderly in Minnesota. Must possess intellectual strength and have a keen understanding of internal systems needed to support services. Must pass a background study with the Minnesota Department of Human Services. Have a valid driver’s license, clean driving record and reliable transportation to use for work driving purposes.
