Description

The Supervising Program Technician (SPT) III is the first line working supervisor in the Criminal Record Expedite & Support Program, Record Support Section, Record Resolution Unit (RRU) over Program Technician (PT) III staff. The SPT III analyzes, distributes, monitors, and prioritizes workload; identifies, resolves, and advises in resolving the most complex work; evaluates program processes to improve efficiency, and assists in implementing new technology as it is applied to the unit’s operation. The SPT III trains and assists personnel who update data on the Automated Criminal History System via the Justice Automated Data Exchange; monitors and evaluates attendance and work performances and takes appropriate corrective action when necessary; develops memorandums, correspondence, and personnel documents as needed. The SPT III analyzes workload data, has a working knowledge of all the work functions in RRU and has a working knowledge of the Bureau’s functions.

Working Conditions
This position is designated for telework under Government Code section 14200 for eligible applicants residing in California and may require reporting to headquarters or field offices and facilities to fulfill operational needs. All telework schedules are subject to change and may be reevaluated at any time. Telework does not change the terms and conditions of employment, the essential functions of job duties, or required compliance with the Department of Justice policies.
This position is eligible for telework, and will be required to report to the office as needed/required. The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment.
Remote and hybrid schedules are subject to management approval. In addition, approved remote and hybrid schedules may be delayed for training purposes.
