An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Supervising Social Worker to join Five Rivers Child Care and to be a part of the continued development of the South and Southeast Service based in Salisbury. By joining us, you will be part of a team wholly committed to our mission of ‘Turning children’s lives around’ to help children and young people who have experienced adversity to achieve their full potential.
We are looking for a Supervising Social Worker, who can work on their own initiative alongside the Service Manager and Team Manager. You will be based from the Registered Office in Salisbury, with flexibility for working from home days as well as attending face to face meetings with Foster Carers in their homes.
The post holder will need to be creative, flexible, and willing to travel. Ideally you will have experience of working within the Fostering Sector, either with an IFA or in the Local Authority. Having the necessary skills and knowledge to enable the completion of Initial Home Visits through to Form F Assessment and presentation at an Independent Panel will be required. The role will include holding a caseload of Foster Carers, as well as being a part of the service recruitment strategy seeking out opportunities to engage with perspective candidates who may wish to become approved Foster Carers.
Five Rivers works from an Attachment Trauma Informed Care Model (ATIC) with integration across our Fostering, residential, clinical and education provision to achieve the best possible outcomes for young people. The role will involve working with the services Clinician and Therapeutic Senior Practitioner to ensure support services are tailored to the individual needs of the children, young people, and Foster Carers we look after. This also includes Reflective Practice sessions provided to the Social Work Team, so they are supported and equipped to deliver these services.
This is a great opportunity for someone who has the drive and ambition to provide high-quality foster placements for children in the area where we know that there is a shortfall of foster families for children who need their care.
We offer opportunities for your progression and further training within the organisation; we are proud to have our ethos accredited with a Gold Investors in People award. You will receive regular supervision and support, as well as extensive training.
Direct support of foster carers within a realistic caseload which enables a high level of supervision, monitoring and intervention.
Working within a Trauma Informed Practice Model, which is continually evolving in line with research and practice developments
Assist in undertaking initial home visits to prospective foster carers and the completion of Form F Assessments.
Helping to create and support the recruitment strategy, as well attending recruitment events.
Be part of our Children and Young People Participations Strategy and events.
Work in collaboration with all colleagues and managers to achieve a high standard of service to foster carers and young people whilst meeting all Ofsted requirements.
Taking part in Out of Hours (on call) support to foster carers on a rota basis. Paid in addition to salary.
Be a part of a regular referral Duty rota.
