Reporting to the Manager, the Supervisor has direct responsibility for maintaining operations at the site level, aligning AHS, Nutrition,Food, Linen and Environmental Services (NFLES), and site priorities with the delivery of Food, Linen and Environmental Services (FLES). Responsibilities and accountabilities include: Operational leadership and human resource management for frontline FLES employees, to ensure service levels and priorities are achieved and the development and maintenance of a positive workplace environment Effective communication and engagement Ensures site compliance to guidelines, standards and regulatory directives as it relates to FLES Key contact to site administration and patient care for matters relating to FLES Participates and promotes FLES quality improvement activities and workplace health and safety. Ensures safe work practice and conditions Monitors, analyzes and manages supply, food and labor expenses to achieve financial targets Patient Food, Linen and Environmental Services Supervisors in Rural areas can be asked to support other Rural Sites, requiring travelling to other towns/sites. This supervisor position is primarily Monday-Friday day shift but requires flexibility and occasion weekend coverage. This is multi-site position including Okotoks Urgent Care and Wellness Center Enviromental services.
Description:
The position is responsible and accountable for: Human Resource management (recruitment, retention, probationary and annual performance reviews, and performance management). Ensure that appropriate quality and safety measures are in place and are compatible with IPC and WHS industry and Provincial standards. Making unit-level decisions and having direct leadership responsibility for contributing to the achievement of all goals of LES. Assisting in monitoring, planning and organization of Portering and Housekeeping demands, setting staffing levels, development of work routines and maintaining accurate records within Central Portering and LES. The supervisor promotes leadership in the identification of environmental services and portering issues and assists in recommending and implementing solutions to those issues. Meets regularly with clinical customers to maintain sound relationships, reviews performance and manages escalated issues. Ensures the Manager as appropriate are informed of and aware of significant events and/or activities within facilities. The Supervisor is also responsible for: Implementation of the waste management program and practices. Ensuring Quality Audits are conducted at the specified frequency and that recommendations and follow up actions are taken. Overseeing the cleaning of facility furnishings and any required project work, as well as shared patient clinical equipment, and any central pooled items.
