Your Opportunity:
Reporting to the Area Manager, the Health Care Aide (HCA) Supervisor promotes and develops strong working relationships within the interdisciplinary team. This position involves oversight of the HCAs in Cochrane, Canmore and Banff areas. This role requires work out of geo area offices and travel supervising HCA’s caring for clients in their homes or in the rural community of the assigned geo area. You will be responsible to operate an AHS assigned laptop computer and mobile phone. Sitting, standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, stooping and carrying equipment is required throughout the shift.
Description:
As part of the Home Care management team, the Supervisor is accountable for supporting safe practice by providing leadership, education, teaching, training, monitoring of client care and restricted activities, ensuring that the HCA’s have the competencies required to fulfil their role. The Supervisor is responsible for performance management, staff development, recruitment, orientation, chairing HCA huddles and team meetings, monitoring of required organizational learning, staffing, scheduling, oversight of the client schedule, monitoring of supply and equipment use and needs, responding to and resolving client concerns. Suggests areas for improvement and conducts coaching and performance conversations. The Supervisor acts a coach and mentor to HCA staff requiring improvement in knowledge or skill development.
