About the role In this role you will provide leadership and supervision of staff and contracted services delivering infrastructure maintenance across the municipality. You will ensure works are completed safely, on time, and to established quality standards, while supporting the Senior Maintenance Operations Leader City Works to maintain an effective and high-performing service for the City of Greater Geelong. Key responsibilities include: * Provide effective leadership to a team of field staff and sub-contractors, focused on delivering high-quality outcomes through the continued development of team safety, capability and engagement. * Competently coordinate the delivery and performance of in-house works crews through the efficient monitoring and use of physical, human and financial resources. * Develop, maintain and actively manage the forward works schedule, prioritising and sequencing reactive and scheduled activities, and rescheduling/reforecasting as required in response to emerging risks, customer requests and operational constraints. * Promote a safety culture, ensuring staff and sub-contractor compliance to relevant OH&S policies and legislation, safety regulations and Codes of Practice. * Order goods, materials and services, prepare, check and process (within approval limits) the necessary documentation including verification and authorising of documentation. About you To be successful in this role, you will have a Certificate IV in Civil Construction or equivalent, and minimum 5 years' work experience in civil operations. Essential: * Experience in supervising civil maintenance operations. * Experience in leading small teams. * Demonstrated ability in promoting a safety culture. * Some experience in cost and quantity estimation, basic budgeting and expenditure monitoring. * Genuine interest and experience in driving continual improvement activities and delivering cultural change in a challenging environment. * Current Victorian Drivers Licence.
