We’re searching for a Licensed Vocational Nurse Clinical Supervisor for our TCP Medical Plaza location, someone who’s ready to be part of the best ranked children’s hospital in Texas, and among the best in the nation. In this position, you will supervise and direct clinical staff and gather information, assess, and provide direct care to patients. Think you’ve got what it takes? Knowledge of pediatric assessment and treatment Proficiency with treatments such as nebulizer, ear irrigation, and dressing changes supervisory experience Skills & Requirements H.S. Diploma or GED Diploma from a school of vocational nursing or documentation from the Texas Board of Nursing verifying an exception to the requirement for a diploma from a school of vocational nursing. BLS - Cert-Basic Life Support by the American Heart Association LVN - Lic-Licensed Vocational Nurses by the State of Texas 1-year Clinical experience an additional 1-year Supervisory experience highly preferred Job Duties & Responsibilities Supervises, coaches, counsels, and evaluates clinical staff to ensure optimal level of job performance, adherence to policies and procedures, and the consistent delivery of quality patient care and customer service. Schedules staff based on practice need and budget. Assures appropriate staffing to provide coverage for patient volume. Monitors and ensures patient flow. Maintains appropriate inventory control of medical supplies and medications. Assures compliance with regulatory requirements, i.e., CLIA/COLA and OSHA. Presents professional image, manner and behavior at all times. Shares relevant information with staff via staff meetings, memos, posting or other effective forms of communication. Orients staff, as appropriate, and submits paperwork in accordance with TCP policies and established timeframes. Conducts or delegates educational In-service on a regular basis and as needed. Maintains documentation of content and attendance. Tasks are measured by observations of evaluator, feedback of provider and review of budget variances in staff and supplies. Also reviewed are CLIA reports, customer satisfaction surveys, employee surveys and any other survey or evaluation available. Provides general patient care. Assists with the collection of patient/family data. Administers medication. Supports patients/families in self-management of their health through assisting with education. Demonstrates Creating SMILES and AIDET philosophies to patients, families, and co-workers. Collects Specimens and Performs Laboratory Test. Triage patients. Coordinates referrals.
