Job Description
Under the supervision of the Manager, Catering opérations and contracts., the individual in this role serves as the operational point of contact and coordinates all activities related to inflight catering and commissary services, while ensuring that Air Transat’s standards are upheld by all involved parties (including subcontractors).
This position does not include any responsibilities related to human resources management.

Responsabilities

  • Supervise daily operations to ensure timely delivery according to schedule;
  • Applies key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure compliance with contracts and schedules;
  • Ensures loading is carried out in accordance with galley loading plans available in the galley planning software, and suggests improvements when necessary;
  • Verifies that inflight catering providers (“caterers”) comply with specifications regarding handling and cleanliness of galley equipment;
  • Assesses equipment condition to ensure operational safety and efficiency, and coordinates with the maintenance department for necessary repairs;
  • Takes appropriate action, in collaboration with the inflight supply team, regarding loading modifications during delays or irregular operations;
  • Follows up on missing onboard items and delays with the team, and ensures corrective measures are implemented at the affected base;
  • Monitors flight reports and provides responses to received feedback;
  • Acts as liaison with various internal and external teams and serves as the point of contact for any operational issues; visits bases when necessary to resolve problems and communicate updates;
  • Provides support regarding modifications and specifications at relevant stations;
  • Conducts food quality audits and monitors data loggers across all stations;
  • Trains inflight catering staff (in person and via video) on drawer and cart assembly and loading, as well as container changes (in accordance with software data), and trains external stations to ensure proper equipment rotation;
  • Participates in inspections, selection processes, and the setup of seasonal or new stations (within Canada or abroad);
  • Coordinates with crew members during flight departure checks.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • College diploma in a relevant field;
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in airline operations or inflight catering environment;
  • Oral and written fluency in French and English - proficiency in additional languages is an asset*;
  • Holder of a valid passport and available for travel.
  • A good knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec. The incumbent will be required to communicate and collaborate frequently in English, both orally and in writing, with colleagues, customers, and other stakeholders in Quebec, the rest of Canada, and internationally.
