Creates processes and procedures and trains credentialing specialists. Reviews documentation and follows up on any identified issues. Ensures accuracy and timely completion of credentialing files and provides feedback and training to specialists when issues are identified. Follows up on escalated issues raised by verification specialists. Monitors compliance with established policies and procedures. Establishes deadlines and develops standards and evaluates performance against these standards in conjunction with Credentialing and Enrollment Manager. Ensures databases are accurately maintained and complete. Hires, trains and supervises staff in conjunction with the Credentialing and Enrollment Supervisor. Performs related responsibilities as required. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: An Bachelor's degree in medical staff service science, business, or a related field of study or at least 4 years of comprehensive medical staff services experience in an acute care hospital, managed care or credentialing verification organization. Current National Association Medical Staff Services (NAMSS) certification as a as a CMSC (medical staff services coordinator) or CPCS (certified provider credentialing specialist) preferred. Those without certification must obtain it within the first year of employment. Must maintain active certification. A working knowledge of accreditation standards and credentialing related state and federal regulations. Experience with database management computer applications preferred.
