Main Activities/Responsibilities: • Establishing a culture of advocating for continuous improvement on all levels • Managing work-load for non-exempt employees • Develop and support warehouse best practices • Ensure correct shipment of all customer orders; by training pickers, billers, auditors and other team members to perform to the best of their abilities and high standards of productivity • Collaborating cross-functionally within your team and their strengths to better react to the different workloads that come down each day • Developing people: Propose training, mentor associates, build-up your team, coach and counsel performance and productivity on a regular basis • Maintaining communication and harmony amongst team members • Creating awareness through daily productivity meetings and visual communication boards • Maintain and ensuring compliance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) • Partner with safety to ensure proper procedures are followed; and ensure documentation is filled out after accidents or incidents. • Ensure the compliance of safety norms to include maintaining a clean, orderly, and safe work area • Serves as contact for customers when necessary • Ensuring the compliance of all legal documentation and completion of necessary paperwork for the receipt, storage or shipment of goods • Maintains warehouse staff job results by coaching, guiding, development and leading associates with planning, monitoring and appraising job results • Demonstrate an attitude of support and foster participation in the environment of continuous improvement • Engage, manage, and drive accountability to direct reporting staff • Develop people through appropriate training, performance reviews and structured succession plans as appropriate • Perform other duties as assigned Competencies: • Excellent written & oral communication skills • Ability to effectively interact with various internal and external customers/ vendors • Ability to multi-task • Ability to organize efficiently and effectively • Ability to exercise logical and sound judgment • Ability to work independently • Willingness to be on call for emergencies • Proficient skills using MS Office Suite (MS Excel, Project, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) • Proficient project management skills • Proficient decision making and problem-solving skills • Proficient mediation skills • Proficient knowledge in SAP or equivalent warehouse management systems • If you are assigned as an Inventory Supervisor, additional requirements of proficiency in math as well as experience in inventory control practices and procedures Reporting Relationships and Supervision: • Associates of assigned area will report directly into this job role. Education and Experience: • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience • 2 years of experience in Warehouse management • 2 years of experience in a position with occasional customer contact • Knowledge / experience in SAP or equivalent ERP systems • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint) • Preferred Certification in Lean/Six Sigma Your Physical Demands/Work Environment: • Physical activity includes walking, standing, bending, squatting, reaching above shoulders and lifting up to 50 lbs or engaging the two person lift if the lbs are more than 50lbs. • Performs activities in a warehouse environment. May be subject to changes in temperature and exposure to dust. • Must be able to operate standard warehouse equipment (pallet jacks, forklifts, etc.).
