We are seeking a Fulltime Supervisor of Economic Development and Investment Projects to ensure the economic growth and long-term sustainability of the City of Port Lincoln by driving initiatives that attract investment, support local business growth and generate employment opportunities. Fulltime, Permanent Position $87,215.11 annual salary 12% superannuation contribution 3% Council superannuation contribution Relocation support available Estimated start July - August 2026 The role maximises economic outcomes by: Securing external funding and partnerships to deliver high-impact projects Supporting development of a diverse and resilient local economy Enabling strategic activation of industries including tourism, arts, events and regional enterprise Contributing to a vibrant, liveable and economically sustainable community The Supervisor – Economic Development and Investment Projects is responsible for delivering Council’s economic development priorities through funded projects, partnerships and strategic initiatives. The role: Identifies and secures grant funding and investment opportunities Leads the delivery of economic development projects from concept to completion Provides economic analysis, insights and advice to inform decision-making Works collaboratively with industry, government and internal stakeholders to drive growth outcomes The position operates with a strong focus on: Economic impact return on investment project delivery excellence funding leverage Key Objectives Include: Economic Development Delivery Deliver initiatives aligned to Council’s Economic Development Strategy Identify opportunities to grow: Local business activity Employment Industry diversification Contribute to place-based economic activation (tourism, arts, events, precincts) Investment & Funding (Elevated Focus) Proactively identify and secure: State and Commonwealth grants Private sector partnerships Co-investment opportunities Develop high-quality, competitive funding submissions Maximise external funding leverage and economic return Project Management & Delivery Manage projects across full lifecycle: Business case Funding Delivery Evaluation and acquittal Ensure projects are: Delivered on time and within budget Compliant with funding conditions Achieving intended economic outcomes Economic Research & Strategic Advice Undertake economic analysis, data interpretation and forecasting Provide insights to: Executive Council GM People and Prosperity Identify emerging trends, risks and opportunities Stakeholder & Industry Engagement Build and maintain strong relationships with: Local businesses Industry groups Government agencies Investment partners Facilitate collaboration to support regional development outcomes Marketing, Promotion & Investment Attraction Support initiatives that promote Port Lincoln as an: Investment destination Tourism hub Regional growth center Contribute to economic marketing activities and campaigns Strategy Implementation & Reporting Support implementation of Economic Development Strategy Monitor and report on outcomes, including: Funding secured Projects delivered Economic impact Provide high-quality reports to Council and Executive Any other duties within the scope of the role as reasonably directed. Essential Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills Tertiary qualifications in Economics, Business, Commerce, Regional Development or related field Demonstrated experience in: Economic development Grants and funding acquisition Project management Strong analytical capability and ability to interpret economic data Experience preparing funding submissions and business cases Strong stakeholder engagement and partnership skills High-level written communication (reports, strategies, submissions) Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities Highly regarded but not essential Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills Experience in regional economic development or local government Experience in investment attraction or industry development Strong knowledge of: State and Federal funding programs Tourism and visitor economy drivers Project management qualifications or certification Key performance indicators: Economic Outcomes Measurable contribution to economic growth initiatives Increase in local business engagement and participation Funding & Investment Value of external funding secured annually Number and quality of successful grant applications Project Delivery Projects delivered on time, within budget and compliant Achievement of defined economic or community outcomes Strategy Implementation Delivery of actions aligned to Economic Development Strategy Progress against annual economic development plan Stakeholder Engagement Strength and effectiveness of industry and government partnerships Positive stakeholder feedback Reporting & Governance Timely, accurate and strategic reporting to Executive and Council Compliance with funding and legislative requirements
