Job Summary: The Supervisor of Electrical and Low Voltage Systems is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and installation of all electrical and low voltage systems within the hospital. This includes ensuring the uninterrupted operation of power distribution systems, emergency backup systems, fire alarms, communication systems, security systems, access control systems, camera systems, the tube system and other critical infrastructure. The Supervisor will lead a team of technicians, coordinate with contractors, and ensure compliance with safety standards, regulations, and hospital policies. Education: Required: High school diploma or GED required. Preferred: Graduation from a technical school in field of study related to electrical or mechanical maintenance. Experience: Required: 5 years' experience with industrial or heavy commercial electrical systems. Preferred: Two or more years in a supervisory role in electrical systems. Position Requirement(s) - License/Certification/Registration Required: N/A Preferred: Electrical License in the State of Tennessee Key Responsibilities: Electrical System Management - Oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, including high and low voltage, emergency power systems, and UPS (Uninterrupted Power Supply) systems. - Ensure the proper functioning of generators, transformers, switchgear, and circuit breakers. - Plan and schedule regular inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs to ensure system reliability and safety. Low Voltage System Management - Manage the installation, testing, and maintenance of low voltage systems including fire alarms, security, nurse call, CCTV, data, and voice communication systems. - Ensure all systems meet hospital standards and regulatory requirements for healthcare facilities. Team Leadership - Supervise a team of electricians and low voltage technicians, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations. - Assign and prioritize tasks, ensuring timely completion of work orders and projects. - Monitor staff compliance with safety protocols, technical standards, and regulatory requirements. Project Management - Plan, coordinate, and oversee electrical and low voltage projects, including system upgrades, new installations, and retrofits. - Work closely with hospital administration, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure timely project completion within budget constraints. Compliance and Safety - Ensure all electrical and low voltage systems meet safety standards and comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including NEC (National Electrical Code), OSHA, and NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) standards. - Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to identify potential issues and implement corrective actions. - Develop and maintain emergency response procedures for electrical and low voltage system failures. Documentation and Reporting - Maintain detailed records of system maintenance, repairs, inspections, and regulatory compliance in accordance with DNV Standards. - Prepare reports on system performance, incidents, and maintenance activities for senior management. Department Position Summary: Responsible for overseeing the installation, maintenance and repair of all electrical and low voltage systems on the Baroness and other assigned campuses, including: power distribution, fire alarm, camera systems, access control systems, building automation, tube system and low voltage cabling. Interviews, evaluates and recommends candidates for open positions and conducts annual performance evaluations. Ensures that all work is conducted in a safe manner and in compliance with health system standards and regulatory/code compliance. Ensures that all team members conduct work in accordance with infection prevention standards. Maintains accurate records in accordance with DNV Standards of Care. Coordinates with effected departments to schedule shutdowns and service interruptions in the safest and least intrusive manner to hospital operations. Monitors and controls inventory and purchasing practices to maximize value to Erlanger. Negotiates vendor contracts and consistently looks for ways to enhance department performance while reducing operating costs. Ensures that department response to work orders and service issues are always conducted in the most efficient of manners and with the highest standards of customer service.
