We are looking for a Supervisor - Electrical for our Amrun, Weipa Operations, a world class asset in the Rio Tinto Bauxite business.
In this role, you’ll manage and supervise trade employees in maintenance activities, ensuring tasks are completed safely and efficiently. You’ll allocate maintenance coverage for breakdowns and resolve on-the-job issues related to planned maintenance activities and shutdowns. Additionally, you’ll monitor working practices and adherence to safety procedures to ensure the safety of employees working in the area.
Living in the idyllic coastal town of Weipa, working across our Northern Operations and working a Monday to Friday 9-day fortnight roster.

Reporting to the Superintendent Electrical, you will:

  • Ensure that all aspects of the Andoom mine meet health, safety and environmental regulatory, compliance and business values requirements.
  • Providing representation of Weipa in customer and community relations and activities.
  • Supervises trade employees in maintenance activities.
  • Allocates maintenance coverage for breakdowns.
  • Resolves on the job issues (with regards to planned maintenance activities, maintenance shutdowns, etc.)
  • Monitors working practices and adherence to safety procedures to ensure safety of employees working in the area.
  • Team Management: Define staffing needs, establish selection criteria, and identify development needs.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify, evaluate, and implement opportunities for improvement and best practices.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with other functions to ensure seamless operations.
