Faculty of Engineering, Architecture and Information Technology (EAIT) Full-time (100%), Permanent position Base salary will be in the range $104,616.68 - $113,920.12 + 17% Superannuation (HEW Level 7) Based at our St Lucia Campus - Brisbane About This Opportunity We are offering a great opportunity for a Supervisor, Engagement, Communication and Outreach who will contribute to the development, implementation and coordination of industry-student activities which benefit EAIT students by allowing them to better understand the professional environment in which they will work and learn valuable employability skills. The main focus of the role will be on new business development and relationship management with industry partners for Employability and Work Integrated Learning (WIL) programs. In this role, you will also lead the industry engagement for co-curricular employability programs. Key responsibilities will include: External Business Development: Research, develop and manage strategic industry partnerships to expand student placement and employability opportunities, negotiate and document placement agreements, promote broader faculty engagement, and collaborate with partners and the Employability team to identify new and existing placement opportunities. Internal Liaison and Advice: Liaise with senior EAIT academic and professional staff and consult with internal UQ stakeholders (e.g. UQ Legal Services, UQ Student Enrichment and Success, UQ Insurance Service) to deliver and support WIL programs aligned with strategic priorities and broader UQ employability goals and policies. Information Management: Provide timely and accurate business development and industry engagement reports to stakeholders, compiling and integrating data from multiple sources to develop reports and draft documentation. Systems and Processes: Contribute to the continuous improvement of EAIT Employability Team systems and processes, including identifying and managing an enterprise system to administer end-to-end placements and reporting requirements. Staff Management: Lead the Engagement and Communications team, consisting of the Senior Engagement Officer providing relevant supervision, support and guidance. Demonstrated ability to effectively manage and maintain relationships with new and existing placement providers and a proven track record with successful business development outcomes. Experience working collegially in partnership with a range of stakeholders across complex and multifaceted organisations, including at senior levels to negotiate and agree outcomes. Demonstrated knowledge of and experience delivering internship and placement programs at a tertiary level. Relevant experience in the development, management and implementation of project plans, including measurement of outcomes and timelines. Self-motivated with excellent time management skills and the ability to manage competing priorities whilst still meeting deadlines and maintaining attention to detail and accuracy. Demonstrated experience with leading and supervising staff in a fast paced and dynamic environment.
