Overview Supervisor Financial Clearance Full Time Benefits Remote/work from home with strong preference for candidates residing within the UPH geographies of Iowa, Illinois, & Wisconsin. This position is responsible for supervision of Financial Clearance. Responsibilities include completing error tracking, monitoring staff productivity and holding staff accountable for completing pre-registrations and pre-authorizations with accuracy in an efficient and effective manner. Responsible for monitoring staff compliance for following all regulations that impact financial clearance. Holds staff accountable for an exceptional Patient Experience. Assists Manager of Financial Clearance with coordination of the training and job performance of employees who report to this position. Responsible for maintaining the staff schedule for assigned financial clearance areas and ensuring coverage to meet patient demand. Successful fulfillment of these responsibilities will promote a motivated staff and contribute toward a prompt and accurate attainment of department and Health System objectives. Responsibilities Management and Leadership Lead and support Financial Clearance staff, including recruiting, hiring, scheduling, training, coaching, and performance management. Oversee daily operations, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and adherence to policies and procedures. Streamline workflows, manage workloads, and recommend process or staffing improvements. Monitor team performance, schedules, and coverage to meet departmental goals. Financial Clearance Expertise Serve as a subject matter expert and system administrator for relevant tools (Insurance Payers, Kronos, DCR Tracker). Provide guidance, training, and support to staff and other departments. Monitor performance metrics and assist with resolving physician or departmental concerns. UnityPoint Health Standards Demonstrate UnityPoint Health values and adhere to policies, procedures, and safety guidelines. Maintain required licenses/certifications and complete all annual training. Ensure compliance with HIPAA, regulatory standards, and federally funded healthcare program requirements. Qualifications Education: High School diploma or GED. Associate’s or bachelor’s degree (or equivalent work experience) with a minimum of two years previous experience in Revenue Cycle functions where Medical terminology required. Experience: 2 years’ experience in Patient Access or related experience. Prefer individuals with strong analytical skills and prior experience working in a Financial Clearance, Patient Access, Billing or Revenue Cycle area License(s)/Certification(s): Valid driver’s license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.
