Ellerslie Farms Group is an agribusiness that operates one of the largest poultry farms in Australia.
We employ over 400 people across our farming operations based at Millmerran, an hour west of Toowoomba in Queensland. Our operations are vertically integrated, covering the entire supply chain from chick rearing, stock feed milling, egg grading and poultry production. Our layer systems include Cage, Cage-Free, Free Range and Organic. We have in-house service teams which coordinate bird vaccination, bird relocation, veterinary and nutrition services.

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE …

You will be required to work efficiently and cohesively within a team environment on a rotating roster, ensuring the welfare of domestic poultry, to support the efficient production of a high quality and hygienic egg.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Proactively participate in the coordination of the day-to-day management of the farm unit and team.
  • Providing mentoring, coaching and support for all workers.
  • Demonstrate a WHS focused approach to all tasks – leading by example.
  • Communicating effectively with existing Management Team and members of the Senior Leadership team.
  • Ensuring accountability of actions relating to the production, cost and profitability outcomes of the farm.
  • Analysing production data against both company and Industry Best Practice Standards.
  • Proactively participate in continuous improvement initiatives in line with the company’s strategic direction.
  • Delivering the highest standard of animal husbandry and welfare.
  • Proactively participating in Quality Assurance, Biosecurity, Workplace Health and Safety, Food Safety

In order to successfully fulfil the requirements of this role, you will need to have:

  • Experience in agricultural production or business management.
  • A passion for effective leadership and managing a team to achieve results.
