We are an industry leader, manufacturing the cleanest steel in the world for companies in the industrial, aerospace and defense, automotive, and energy markets.   Relocation will not be offered for this position.   Purpose: Participate in an 18 month training program to become successful in the following areas: supervising personnel, processing, scheduling, maintenance, safety, housekeeping, and training for an 8 hour production shift in the plants to meet the Metallus mission of producing the highest quality alloy steel at the lowest unit cost. Required to work overtime, rotating shifts/ schedules, or weekends as per business needs. Training will take place at any of the three Canton plants and participants will be placed in a supervisor position at one of our three Canton plants upon completion of the program.   Training in the program will prepare participants for supervisor responsibilities including: Safety & Environment- Provide a safe work environment and promote employee safety as the number one goal at Metallus. Productivity- Work to achieve higher asset utilization through improved reliability and scheduling efficiency. Promote an understanding of customer needs and the necessity for delivering our products on time. Continuous Improvement- Continue the development of technology and create the environment that encourages this in others and seek continual improvement. Promote aggressiveness and innovation to push the limits of normal operation. Communications- Maintain good employee relations. Represent the company to employees, customers and public. Costs- Maximize potential of all resources.   Minimum Requirements: High school diploma with at least 5 years of experience in manufacturing, maintenance, supervising, or related work.   Preferred Requirements: Associate's degree in a technical field, business, or a trade with at least 2 years of experience in manufacturing, maintenance, supervising, or related work.  The company prohibits harassment or discrimination against any employee on the basis of any status protected by law, including, but not limited to, race, religion, color, national origin, ancestry, age, disability, genetic information, gender, sex or veteran status.
