INTRODUCTION:

Liberty Industrial is setting new standards in the fields of deconstruction, decommissioning and remediation. We are dedicated to delivering excellence in every project we undertake, and our talented and passionate team has propelled us to the forefront of our industry.
Due to our recent project successes and a growing portfolio of work, we are looking for Demolition Supervisors for projects throughout Australia. Your first project will be working on the Argyle Diamond Mine Demolition project.
As this is a permanent role with upcoming projects expected to be in remote locations, a willingness to work on a FIFO basis on a 2:1 and a 3:1 roster is essential.

On project sites, the Supervisor will play a crucial role in overseeing our workforce and subcontractors to ensure that all operations are conducted efficiently and safely. You will be responsible for enforcing company policies and procedures while fostering a culture of safety and compliance on our project sites.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

  • Proven experience in a supervisory role within either heavy Industrial demolition, large scale remediation, decommissioning projects OR civil Construction.
  • Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Have the ability and experience to run, direct and sub-contract labour teams safely and productively.
  • Develop and foster strong working relationships with team members, setting clear expectations that inspire better performance
  • Be practical-minded and work with a hands-on approach coupled with excellent communication and people skills
  • Be able to communicate clearly, take & follow directions and be proactive in the workplace
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Cert III or Cert IV in Demolition or nationally recognised Demolition Supervisor skillset is desirable

Responsibilities
  • Conduct pre-start meetings, assign tasks, and discuss project needs and potential challenges with the team.
  • Perform behavioural observations and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
  • Manage reporting procedures for significant hazards, incidents, and emissions.
  • Facilitate toolbox talks and ensure they are documented in accordance with the site management plan.
  • Identify safety training needs and collaborate with the Project Manager and HSEQ Advisor to implement training programs.
  • Conduct site inductions and safety briefings for new team members.
  • Assist in hazard identification and recommend preventative measures to enhance safety.
  • Collaborate with the site management team on safety aspects related to plant and process modifications.
  • Initiate and oversee emergency procedures on site.
  • Ensure that company equipment is maintained according to manufacturer specifications.
  • Actively engage with the workforce, spending a minimum of 50% of your workday on-site.
  • Address grievances promptly and escalate unresolved issues to the Project Manager.
  • Chair weekly toolbox talks to reinforce safety practices.
