Brief Job Description:  The Mechanical Team Lead will oversee the industrialization engineering team, ensuring the successful design, development, and implementation in production of the products. This role involves leading a team of engineers, managing projects, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products. Team Lead- Mechanical       Job Title                             : Team Lead- Mechanical Department                      : Busway Reports to                         : Manager Engineering Description of Essential Duties: * Provide leadership and guidance to a team of engineers, overseeing design engineering support for New Product Development (NPD), Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE), and improvement projects. Ensure alignment with global engineering standards and practices. * Develop comprehensive project plans for New Product Introduction (NPI) and improvement initiatives, managing resources, timelines, and deliverables.  * Lead the team in executing a range of design projects from concept to production, ensuring quality in CAD modeling (using Sledworks), Bills of Materials (BOM), and Change Orders. Provide technical expertise while also setting strategic direction for project outcomes. * Mentor and develop team members, fostering technical growth and autonomy. Ensure that the team rapidly acquires and assimilates product knowledge for effective project execution. * Oversee the design and development of parts and assemblies, ensuring the delivery of comprehensive design packages that include 3D models, assemblies, drawings, and BOM structures. Ensure all work meets organizational quality and schedule requirements. * Facilitate effective communication between cross-functional teams across global locations. Lead regular project reviews with both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring that design requirements, timelines, and deliverables are met. * Represent the engineering team in customer and internal review meetings. Provide strategic recommendations and insights to optimize project outcomes based on feedback. * Lead the estimation of project timelines & resources. Ensure accurate project estimations and efficient allocation of team resources to meet requirements. * Drive continuous improvement within the team, ensuring adherence to the organization’s project management processes and quality standards. Lead efforts to refine engineering practices and methodologies. * Oversee and report on the team’s performance, ensuring adherence to quality standards, timelines, and communication plans. Provide regular updates to senior management. * Take on additional leadership duties as assigned by the organization, ensuring high levels of commitment and execution from the entire team. * Knowledge of BUSWAY and switchgear is added advantage. Required Competency for Team Lead: * Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering with a solid background in design and leadership within a relevant engineering environment. * 13-15 years of hands-on experience with CAD software tools, particularly Solidworks and  Creo will be added advantage with expertise in the sheet metal and Electro mechanical Product Domain. * In addition to being an expert in 3D modeling and detailing, the Team Lead must have the ability to guide and mentor the team in handling complex CAD models and the Change Order (CO) process. * Proven ability to manage and guide the team in handling large CAD assemblies in Creo, including overseeing modifications and ensuring that they meet project requirements. * Extensive experience working with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools is essential. Experience with Agile or PD Cloud will be considered a strong advantage in managing team workflows. * Strong understanding and hands-on experience in sheet metal fabrication processes are critical. * Experience in a fabrication environment is a plus. * Previous experience in telecom or electrical enclosure design will help in guiding the team through similar design challenges and improving project outcomes. * Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively lead cross-functional teams and communicate project updates. Fluency in both written and spoken English is essential for effective team and stakeholder interactions. * Demonstrated ability to lead by example, with self-motivation, discipline, and a passion for continuous learning. The Team Lead should be capable of inspiring and organizing the team to achieve project milestones and quality standards.
