Description New England Dermatology & Laser Center has been providing dermatology care to the greater Springfield community for over 70 years. We're looking for an experienced Medical Office Supervisor with a conscientious work ethic to join our busy specialty practice. Job Summary The dermatology office supervisors are responsible for satellite office operations, scheduling, patient flow, medical assisting and laboratory processes and ensuring superior customer service to patients being seen for general dermatology appointments. They will act as a medical assistant as needed and will participate in hiring, training, developing and evaluating medical assistants. They will provide supervision and oversite to medical assistants, intake specialists and patient services associates working in their location, ensuring quality and coordinating work. Schedule M-F 7:30a-4:30p, 1 hour non-paid lunch daily, 40 hours per week. · 8-hour shift · Day shift · Monday to Friday · No weekends · Overtime and scheduling flexibility may also be required to accommodate operational needs. Work setting In-person. The regular work location will be varied between our offices (Springfield, Longmeadow, Northampton and Westfield) based on staffing and provider needs. This position reports to the General Dermatology Manager. Dermatology and medical office experience preferred. Associate’s degree in medical assisting, nursing or related discipline or an equivalent combination of education in medical assisting, ACDT certification and experience. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Professional, courteous, patient, flexible team player who works well independently, as part of a team and under pressure. Customer focus and adaptability to different personality types. Excellent verbal & written communication skills, including active listening and ability to multi-task and meet goals. Constant monitoring of workflow. Ability to prioritize and troubleshoot. Initiative, conscientious work ethics, accuracy, attention to detail, good judgment & follow-through. Reacts calmly and efficiently in emergent situations. Ability to modify methods to resolve new or unusual processes or results. Ability to take vitals, inject patients and assist with surgical procedures. Knowledge of sterile technique and wound care. Knowledge of instrument cleaning/sterilization and care. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology related to dermatology and related disorders, medications and treatments for dermatology related conditions helpful. Proficiency with practice management, electronic health record and Microsoft Office software programs. Ability to maintain confidentiality.
