SUPERVISOR, MENTAL HEALTH & SUBSTANCE USE (CH)

Location: Toronto, ON
Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week

The Jean Tweed Centre is building capacity to transform the level of support for women with substance use, mental health, and gambling concerns.

PROGRAM/DEPARTMENT SUMMARY

Jean Tweed Centre supports and operates a number of housing and residential programs for women and their families with histories of substance use and/or mental health concerns.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree in Social Work or relevant field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in related field.
  • Minimum 2 years supervisory experience preferably in a unionized environment.
  • Approach to leadership consistent with organizational values.
  • Knowledge and understanding of women’s issues, particularly as they relate to women with substance use, mental health and/or gambling concerns.
  • Excellent decision-making, problem-solving and conflict/crisis management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive and collaborative working relationships with individuals and teams.
  • Strong computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent individual and group supervisory skills.
  • Administrative, project management and program development skills.
  • Upon commencement of employment, all new employees are required to be up to date with vaccinations.

Responsibilities

As a Supervisor, Mental Health & Substance Use (BV) you will provide supervision and support a team approach to case planning, consistent with evidence-based practices in the fields of mental health and substance use; support your teams to manage crisis situations, conflict resolution, and risk assessments; provide coordination of the daily operations of the programs.
