ABOUT THE ROLE

Join our inclusive and diverse team here at Rio Tinto. We’re seeking a passionate and energetic Supervisor to help establish and lead a new Mine Water Management team at RTIO newest mine site. Reporting to the Mine Water Management Superintendent, you will be responsible for the below duties :

  • Be an inspiring role model and coach—driving positive behaviours, safety practices, and technical standards
  • Provide hands-on leadership and mentoring to both trade and non-trade team members, leveraging individual strengths to maintain safety and performance
  • Conduct daily inspections and regular job interactions to embed a culture of safety and continuous improvement
  • Allocate and coordinate planned maintenance activities using Rio Tinto workflow management systems
  • Prioritise and manage breakdowns in collaboration with the mine production team
  • Lead cost-saving and efficiency improvement projects, contributing to a lean and productive operation

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:

  • A strong commitment to safety—for yourself, your team, and your workplace
  • Proven leadership experience in mentoring, coaching, and developing high-performing teams
  • Experience in Mine Water Management
  • Solid understanding of planned maintenance and reliability processes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
  • A current Australian manual (C Class) driver’s licence
  • A genuine respect for others and an inclusive mindset
  • Courage to challenge the status quo and curiosity to find better ways of workin
