Position Summary:     The Nutritionist Supervisor is a member of the Nutrition Services administration team.  The Nutritionist Supervisor oversees the provision of nutrition services for a work group and provides moderate risk counseling to WIC participants. The Nutritionist Supervisor works under the leadership of the Director of WIC or the Assistant Nutrition Director of WIC.     Essential Functions:   Team Management & Leadership: * Team leader for a site-based workgroup or administrative area of service. * Plan and adjust the staffing and scheduling of services for the workgroup. * Assess the abilities of each workgroup member on an ongoing basis and complete employee performance evaluations at regular intervals. * Provide staff training as needed to foster ongoing growth and development. * Conduct regular workgroup meetings. * Oversee adherence to Clinica Sierra Vista and WIC Program policies, procedures, and standards of care. * Provide presentations to all WIC staff as needed for training. * Perform introductory and annual employee reviews, competency forms, and provide constructive feedback to help meet organizational and professional goals. Performance Monitoring & Improvement: * Assess, observe, and audit services offered by WIC employees at regular intervals and train and recommend changes as needed. * Participate in case review, staff meetings, and program planning. * Conduct chart audits as outlined in CPSP policy. *  Identify, organize, and prepare documents related to cases of fraud for review and follow guidance and recommendations by the State WIC Branch’s Program Integrity Unit.   Operational Efficiency: * Manage the operation of the WIC Program’s Integrated Statewide Database System, WIC Wise, for the site(s).   * Oversee the daily and monthly reconciliation of WIC food benefits and other WIC Wise reports. * Oversee the physical operations of the workgroup, including the facility, equipment, inventory, and supplies. * Provide staff relief in the absence of available staff needed to conduct WIC operations. * Coordinate services with other programs within Clinica Sierra Vista and the community.   Communication & Reporting: * Prepare and submit required records and reports. * Maintain current knowledge base for standards and practices in the nutrition profession. * Regular participation on committees (i.e., CSV, WIC, State, or Community).   Problem Solving & Conflict Resolution: * Assist staff in handling client complaints or difficult clients as needed. * Provide quality customer service to participants and team members with an attitude of helpfulness, dignity, and respect.   Safety & Compliance: * Comply with established Clinica Sierra Vista and WIC policies. * Ensure confidentiality and security of sensitive information at all times. * Maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements, including CDPH/WIC training guidelines.   Other Responsibilities: * Willingness to work at multiple sites as needed. * Commitment to the mission of Clinica Sierra Vista and the WIC Program. * Provide education and support of breastfeeding and promote a breastfeeding-friendly environment. * Provide high-risk counseling to WIC participants and to health center patients and document in WIC Wise (the Statewide Integrated Database Information System) and/or the medical record as appropriate. * Submit the required billing documents for CPSP reimbursement.   Qualifications:   1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in nutrition.  2. Previous supervisory experience, desirable.  3. Knowledge of Windows and word processing applications.  4. Valid California driver’s license and current automobile insurance.  5. Precise and conscientious about details.  6. Excellent communication skills.  7. Ability to handle multiple tasks well.  8. Ability to work well independently and with others.  9. Ability to follow directions, learn new skills and meet deadlines.  10. Bilingual ability (English/Spanish) desirable.  11. Experience or desire to work with low-income families.  12. Two years work experience in public health, desirable.  13.
