SUPERVISOR OF ACCOUNTABILITY CENTRAL OFFICE   To direct the activities of the Office of Accountability, which obtains and provides useful, accurate, and timely information and data to improve teaching and learning throughout Harford County Public Schools.   ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND  RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE   These items are intended only as examples of the various types of job duties to be performed; specific position assignments will vary depending on the needs of the department.  The omission of specific duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is a similar, related, or logical assignment to the position. * Leads, plans, organizes, and directs the work of the Office of Accountability, ensuring alignment with district priorities, state and federal requirements, and the continuous improvement of student outcomes. * Leads system-wide data analytics and reporting functions, including the collection, analysis, interpretation, and visualization of data to inform decision-making. Prepares comprehensive reports, dashboards, and presentations for the Superintendent, Executive Council, the Board of Education, and other committees to support strategic planning and performance monitoring. * Provides leadership and direction to the administration of state, local, and national assessments. Serves as Local Accountability Coordinator (LAC); oversees the implementation of state guidelines and policies related to accountability and assessment; represents the school system at statewide meetings; and serves as the liaison with the Maryland State Department of Education and the Accountability and Implementation Board on student performance, accountability, and assessment matters.  * Provides leadership and direction in the planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the school system’s K-12 comprehensive student assessment program. Collaborates with the Division of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment in the construction, selection, delivery, scoring, reporting, and evaluation of assessments aligned with the Maryland College and Career Ready Standards. * Collaborates with Education Services, Student Support Services, and Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment to analyze data trends and performance indicators that inform school improvement planning, student growth, and organizational effectiveness. Supports the development of targeted strategies to improve outcomes. * Collaborates with the Office of Technology to guide the collection, validation, storage, and submission of data for state and federal accountability reporting, including required file submissions to the Maryland State Department of Education. * Collaborates on the design, development, and management of data reporting tools, including Microsoft Power BI dashboards and other visualization platforms, to support real-time access to student performance and operational data. * Provides professional learning and technical assistance to school and central office staff in accountability systems, assessment practices, and data analysis to strengthen data-informed decision-making and improve student performance. * Oversees the student assessment and data management systems and related platforms for local, state, and national assessments, ensuring data integrity, security, and usability. * Provides leadership in the development, implementation, and evaluation of system-wide research and program evaluation activities, including the analysis of initiative effectiveness and return on investment. * Implements and monitors guidelines for conducting educational research within Harford County Public Schools, ensuring compliance with district policies and ethical standards. * Plans and manages the budget and expenditures for the Office of Accountability, ensuring responsible stewardship of resources. * Evaluates the performance and supports the professional growth of staff, including hiring, supervision, and development of Office of Accountability personnel. * Serves on the General Curriculum Committee and other system-level committees as assigned, contributing data insights to inform policy, program, and instructional decisions. * Performs other work-related duties as assigned.     SALARY     * This is a twelve-month position with 20 days of annual leave.
