Summary Supervisor of Assessments is responsible for developing professional and empathetic relationships with their staff. This position leads the day-to-day activities of the Assessment Center Team and the Outreach Team. Essential Functions * Recruits, recommends candidates for hire, engages and retains a high performing, accountable workforce, writes and delivers performance appraisals. * Conducts trainings, plans, coordinates, and facilitates meetings and events.  * Manages the Assessment Center Specialists, provides leadership, direction and coordination, monitors and evaluates staff’s work performance.  * Manages Outreach Workers, provides leadership, direction and coordination to ensure staff follow the best practices while working with their clients to enter them into the Coordinated Entry System (CES), and provide ongoing Case Management. * Manages the Administrative Assistant II, provides leadership, direction and coordination to ensure staff are following best practices regarding the Resolution Strategies funding. * Act as a liaison between the Assessment Center and Outreach teams and the broader community providers. * Assigns tasks, monitors and evaluates the work product of staff to include policies and procedures, caseload assignments, client interaction and interventions, as well as documentation of services.  * Recommends and administers disciplinary actions; recommends termination of employees. * Tracks expenses for the department. * Conducts client meetings when needed. * On time completion of assigned trainings and policies. * Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education and Experience:  Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:  * Bachelor’s degree in social work (Psychology, Sociology or Social Work) or equivalent experience.  * At least 4 years of experience working with underserved populations in a social service setting.  * At least 2 years of Outreach and/or Case Management experience working with underserved populations in a social service setting. * At least 1 year of leadership experience to include training, performance management, counseling and retaining an engaged and accountable workforce. * Intermediate user of MS Office.   Knowledge of:  * Understanding of Housing First, Trauma Informed Care, Conflict Resolution, Motivational Interviewing, Low Barrier Operations and Prevention and Diversion practices.  * Theory, principles and practices of homeless housing interventions, social services, case management, eviction prevention, shelter diversion, and crisis intervention.  * Knowledge of all applicable Federal, State and local laws, codes, regulations, and departmental policies and procedures.  * Principles and practices of data collection and report preparation.  * Research, statistical, analytical and reporting methods, techniques and procedures.  * Modern office practices including word processing, database and spreadsheet applications.   Ability to:  * Organizing and prioritizing a variety of projects and multiple tasks in an effective and timely manner.  * Effectively problem solving and maintaining composure in high-pressure situations.  * Making accurate arithmetic, financial, and statistical computations.   Licenses and Certifications:  * Valid Driver’s License with proof of current vehicle registration and insurance.  * A minimum of 3 years of driving experience; possesses a valid California driver's license; and has no Class 1 or more than two Class 2 violations within the past 36 months.   Other:  * Be at least of 21 years of age.  The Pay Rate for this role is based on several factors including the candidate's experience, qualifications, and internal equity. The initial offer usually falls between the minimum and midpoint of the applicable salary range.
