QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Diploma or degree in Nursing, Health Sciences, Public Health, or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience in community or primary healthcare, with supervisory experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of clinical workflows, patient-centered care, and Indigenous health contexts
  • Experience supervising staff, coordinating programs, and managing day-to-day health operations
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
  • Knowledge of Indigenous health systems, FNHA benefits, and culturally safe practices
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and access to reliable transportation
Responsibilities

Operational Leadership & Staff Supervision

  • Lead the day-to-day operations of TFN’s primary and community health programs, including Community Nursing, In-Home Care, and the NP/Family Doctor clinics
  • Supervise and support health staff through regular check-ins, performance evaluations, and mentorship
  • Schedule staff, monitor workloads, and ensure appropriate coverage for clinic and home care services
  • Oversee daily functioning of the medical clinic, liaising with IT, facilities, and vendors as needed
  • Identify operational challenges and recommend process improvements for clinic efficiency and patient flow

Client & Community Health Support

  • Act as the first point of contact for community members navigating TFN’s health services
  • Support clients with accessing services, medical transportation, and benefits navigation (e.g., First Nations Health Authority benefits)
  • Maintain respectful, trust-based relationships with TFN members while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism
  • Collaborate with Nurse Practitioner, Family Physician, and external providers to ensure care coordination and continuity

Program Coordination & Documentation

  • Monitor and maintain health program documentation, reporting requirements, and compliance standards.
  • Assist in the implementation of health promotion initiatives, workshops, and seasonal clinics (e.g., immunizations, wellness checks)
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs), service delivery data, and program goals
  • Contribute to grant applications, reporting, and community health planning as required

Decision-Making Authority

  • Responsible for daily operational decisions related to scheduling, team supervision, clinic functioning, and client service coordination
  • May make recommendations regarding staffing, resource needs, or program improvements to the Manager of Health
  • Strategic, financial, or staffing decisions require managerial consultation and approval
