Responsibilities Daily supervision of Ferrous employees Approve timecards and vacation/time off. Issue disciplinary action and employee counseling. Issue department’s work schedule. Responsible for ensuring staff is up to date on equipment and safety training. Address employee issues as they arise. Communicate with marketing representatives daily Responsible for inbound/outbound shipments in a timely manner. Making sure material meets customer specifications. Check rail shipments to make sure they are within weight parameters. Check that shipments are free of radioactive materials. Make sure scrap is loaded safely. Responsible for inbound source control Handling processing of paperwork in a timely manner. Baler production logs. Shredder production logs. Daily pre-op sheets for all equipment. Maintain knowledge of on-hand inventory at all times. Remain up to date on reclassification of commodities. Qualifications Communicate with external and internal rail departments. All other tasks as assigned Strong communication skills to successfully interact with employees, managers, and customers. Strong written skills to effectively report status of area. Strong computer skills (working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.) Ability to present information to large groups effectively. Ability to establish priorities and manage multiple tasks at once. Ability to complete assignments in a timely manner with attention to detail.
