Description

Responsibilities: To lead a team of engineers to execute each assigned Project 100% in accordance with Tender, project margin, Specification, Client delivery dates, drawing approvals. Analyze and implement organizational process and workflow, employee and space requirements, and equipment layout. Forecast requirements; prepare an annual budget and schedule expenditures. In charge for developing the ERP system for the Switchgear manufacturing unit and its entire operations. Coordinate with Human Resources for appropriate staffing levels. Conduct interviews, hire new staff for the Switchgear operations and participate in staff / HR Issues relating to the company as required. Communicate job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions In-charge of setting up man, machine, infrastructure, systems, procedures etc for the Skid factory Work closely with Director and Management team to set up and/or implement policies, procedures, and systems and to follow through with implementation. Ensure that the operations are fully functional (Production, QHSE, Project, ERP, Supply chain etc) upon commissioning of the factory Supervise staff in accordance with company policies and procedures. Coach and provide career development advice to staff. Establish employee goals and conduct employee performance reviews. To fully maintain the Project Margin and claim for any project variation as required. Communicate effectively with the customer & management to maintain highest customer satisfaction level. Review each project that is passed from sales, technically evaluate it based on the specification, tender and purchase order, once reviewed hand it over to dedicated team of engineer staff to execute the project in accordance with business demands. Advice on any (discrepancy) differences to sales Engineer to Coordinate / Project Engineer Obtain Delivery dates and plan for daily, weekly, and monthly production plan and release for manufacture based on client expectation for material delivered to site and for production output stability Be available and make yourself known to each of the clients for the respective projects. Any day-to-day communication will be handled by the Project engineer, but expectation is that Engineering manager will be fully in the loop in the execution of every project Review designs completed by Project engineer that have special consideration and ensure that they are both workable on site and have ability to manufacture in the plant. Get involved in special components manufacture from a design perspective. Review approval status of drawings with project engineers and ensure that approval is received minimum 4 weeks before start of production to allow raw material ordering Approve any Cost change and variation generated by the project engineers before issuance to client. Ensure H&S of Engineers at site and in factory by instructing them to wear proper PPE. Ensuring release of material for production in a timely manner such that Project engineers get their required material uploaded on the ERP 4 weeks before production is required to start. Control the usage of paper and promote the usage of used one side paper for printing in your department. Confirm Delivery dates with production and priorities based on the client’s total requirement. So, project engineers can communicate with end clients about delivery. At project close out Customer satisfaction from client. Check Total Value, match with purchase order and any variation done. As built drawing forward to client. All quantity to forward to client. Ensure members & visitors are not wearing jewelry or loose clothing while inside shop floor Educate members in Health & Safety culture. To conduct investigation regarding incidents encountered. To provide corrective actions to eliminate incident recurrence. Conduct regular toolbox talk to members regarding OHS issues. Coordinate with safety officer regarding all H&S Issues. Address H&S Issues that are being observed around shopfloor.
