Description

ABOUT US

At Pakka Jacks, a division of Sime Industrial, we’re revolutionising heavy equipment maintenance across the mining and construction sectors. Our world-class, patented jacking system is transforming safety, efficiency, and productivity on site—cutting downtime by up to 80% and costs by up to 75%.
We’re more than a technology provider—we’re a team of professionals pushing the boundaries of what’s possible, driven by safety, continuous improvement, and customer success.

ABOUT YOU

We’re looking for a hands-on leader who can guide teams in high-risk environments while staying cool, calm, and connected to clients and crews.

Responsibilities

THE ROLE

This is not your standard supervisor position. You’ll lead and support site teams performing specialist jacking and maintenance tasks on hydraulic excavators, shovels, and other large-scale equipment.
With a strong focus on quality assurance and client service, you’ll oversee work execution, build stakeholder relationships, and support training initiatives across multiple locations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Supervising field crews and ensuring safe, compliant work delivery
  • Performing and overseeing specialist jacking during slew bearing changes, track frame replacements, and shutdown support
  • Engaging directly with clients and stakeholders to problem-solve and deliver on expectations
  • Local and interstate travel, regularly for periods up to 7-10 days, occasionally longer when conducting our specialist jacking work with associated shutdown support

TO THRIVE IN THIS ROLE, YOU’LL NEED:

  • Mechanical aptitude and the confidence to hold technical conversations with stakeholders
  • Experience in mining, construction, or heavy industry environments
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • A willingness to travel frequently, learn new systems, and think on your feet
  • Training, QA or site leadership experience will be highly regarded
  • Current valid driver’s license
  • You can be based in Brisbane, Hunter Valley, Perth or Mackay – or anywhere in between – as long as you’re open to regular travel
