PROGRAM NATURE AND SCOPE:

Skills for Change believes the future of programming can be strengthened through collaborative partnerships. We are looking for a leader to create systematic, process-driven approaches to partner outreach and relationship management for the organization, bridging SfC’s skilled immigrant talent pool, with a specific focus on Women in the Skilled Trades. We are looking for someone with experience in the social impact sector who can help us transform our work, grow our team and move from a transactional approach of partnerships to a relational one with our corporate and community partners. We are looking for someone with a collaborative spirit who can work with the senior leadership team to align internal goals with new and existing partner relationships.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or related field

(Master’s an asset).

  • 3–5 years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role related to partnerships,

stakeholder engagement, or corporate relations, ideally within a nonprofit or social

impact setting.

  • Demonstrated experience managing external relationships and executing high-level

engagement strategies, including events.

  • Strong understanding of Canada’s employment and training sectors, particularly as it

relates to newcomers, women in trades, and equity-deserving groups.

  • Experience leading or supporting the delivery of professional events (virtual and in person) tied to stakeholder engagement.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong organizational, project management, and team leadership capabilities.
  • A clear Vulnerable Sector Check is required

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY:

With 40 years of operations, Skills for Change is a highly respected non-profit charity with a province-wide reputation for pioneering programs that respond to shifting immigration and workplace trends and lead to employment. We offer a range of accelerated programs for newcomers to Canada, immigrants, refugees, women, youth, seniors, LGBTQ+ and Black Canadians. We have multiple locations across the GTA and serve 20,000 clients annually. We believe we are in the best position to provide thought leadership through evidence-based programming, impact stories, and proactive policy advocacy using knowledge mobilization products. Skills for Change is a non-profit organization delivering services nationally. We are seeking a Supervisor, National Programs to lead our efforts in forging and managing corporate and community partnerships that support our organizational outcomes and maximize programmatic impact, with a particular focus on our Women in Skilled Trades program.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Partnership Development & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Develop and implement a national stakeholder engagement strategy to build and sustain meaningful partnerships across the private, public, and nonprofit sectors.
  • Cultivate strategic relationships with corporate and community partners to support program delivery, particularly in employment, skilled trades, and national workforce development initiatives.
  • Convert leads into long-term collaborations, with a focus on mentorship pathways, employment pipelines, funding support, and shared-impact initiatives.
  • Monitor and assess partner engagement to ensure alignment with organizational goals, and implement strategies to address concerns and enhance relationships.
  • Maintain accurate records of partnership activity and support internal reporting, proposal development, and knowledge sharing.
  • Align partnership opportunities with national programs by staying informed of labour market trends, sector shifts, and industry priorities.
  • Identify and initiate partnerships that support underserved or priority populations, including women, racialized groups, and newcomers.

Strategic Events & Engagement (Partnership-Facing)

  • Lead the coordination of high-impact, partnership-focused events including industry advisory forums, networking sessions, employer recognition events, and national partner roundtables.
  • Integrate events as a key engagement tool to build rapport, share program outcomes, and spotlight partner contributions.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to align events with program goals, ensure strong partner participation, and create space for sector knowledge exchange.
  • Support sponsorship development and the integration of partner branding, speaking opportunities, and visibility within events.
  • Oversee event follow-up to capture feedback, identify next steps, and deepen collaboration post-engagement.

Team Leadership & Internal Collaboration

  • Supervise and guide team members involved in partnership development, coordination, and event execution.
  • Provide training, mentorship, and performance support to ensure effective relationship management and stakeholder engagement.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with programs, communications, and senior leadership to align partnership efforts with broader organizational strategies.
  • Represent Skills for Change in national forums, partner meetings, and external working groups as required.
