Overview About the Role The primary purpose of the Supervisor Patient Accounts (Billing) position, under the direction of the Manager Patient Accounts, is to supervise assigned staff and is responsible for the coordination and implementation of billing and follow-up activities of accounts. Responsibilities What You’ll Do Supervises assigned staff under the direction of the Manager of Patient Accounts. Coordinates and oversees all billing and follow-up activities for patient accounts, including payment and denial processing. Determines appropriate actions for billing and follow-up issues in a timely manner. Monitors daily productivity of billing specialists and overall unit performance. Ensures optimal use of automated tools to support billing and follow-up processes. Assists with resolving credit balances in the department. Helps investigate and resolve patient complaints. Supports the Manager in identifying staff training and development needs, and in process improvement initiatives. Qualifications What You’ll Bring Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or a related field is required. Minimum of three (3) years of professional experience in billing and collection of hospital services is required. Equivalent education, experience, and/or training in hospital patient accounting may be substituted for the degree requirement.
